Blueberry muffins

I don’t like blueberry muffins. Which is too bad, because they’re everywhere. Get a muffin basket? About half of then will be blueberry. Continental breakfast? They will be there, shoving their way to the front of the line.
I don’t like blueberries to begin with. The texture is weird, and I don’t think they have a whole lot of flavor. Not a lot of bang for the buck, I would say.
They’re touted as a superfood. They’re supposed to contribute to heart health, bone strength, skin health, lower blood pressure, diabetes management, cancer prevention, and even help your mental health.

I still don’t like them.
But my biggest issue with blueberry muffins is that they are frauds.

When they’re baked, the berries that poke through the top get a bit well-done. Then, instead of bright blue orbs, they look like …
… chocolate.
Unless they have shocking purple juice dribbling down the side, it’s hard to tell.

Sneaky berries. They’ll do anything to get you to eat them.
Well, they won’t fool me.
