You scream, I scream…

food-restaurant-summer-nuts-mediumI is for ice cream. Who doesn’t love ice cream? I’m sure there are those who don’t, but I don’t want to know about you.

I like chocolate ice cream, but I actually prefer vanilla with chocolate syrup. You can taste the chocolate better that way. My favorite sundae is vanilla ice cream covered with chocolate syrup and sprinkled with walnuts (or peanuts in a pinch). I don’t like French vanilla, though. I prefer vanilla bean. I found a brand that said it was made with Mexican vanilla bean. I don’t know if it’s really from Mexico or not, but it tastes very good.

Imagination is another good i-word. Ideas is one, too. Where would authors be without them? They say there are only so many plots in the world. Seven, eight, nine. One guy said thirty-six. Even 36 would soon be exhausted unless there were an infinite number of variations. Twists, turns, surprises—that’s what keeps readers turning the page.

hand-229777__180I’m thankful for my inheritance. Not my earthly one. I recently found out my father disinherited my brother and sister and me. Not a tremendous surprise except for the way he did it, which was fairly ugly. But our heavenly Father has a much better plan: Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade. This inheritance is kept in heaven for you, who through faith are shielded by God’s power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time. ~ 1 Peter 1:3-5

That’s the only inheritance we need.

  1. Thankful for our true inheritance, and very very thankful for family members that hold on so tightly to this hope with me too.

Also, ice cream usually makes me think of my Uncle John’s Incredible Yogurt store. I remember he let me put on all the toppings I wanted. I piled it high! Haha
